Our Focus

Many hospitals and healthcare organizations are facing the significant tasks of upgrading and implementing a new electronic health record (EHR) system and/or other technology-based initiatives. As they seek funding from the federal American Reinvestment and Recovery Act (ARRA), HCTec’ s purpose is to provide skilled staffing, implementation analysts, and learning resources to ensure positive implementation results—while reaching meaningful use in a timely, cost-effective manner.

The problem?

Vendors realize that all hospitals are lining up to have their new EMR systems up and running in time to receive stimulus money from the ARRA in 2011 and to avoid the costly penalties for not meeting the certain stage requirements and new government standards in the future (HIMMS Adoption Model Below) . These vendors are almost always understaffed and their queue for new implementations is growing at a rapid pace. And, importantly, efforts are rarely made by these vendors to ensure standardized, organizational-wide competency development for the healthcare staff that will be using the new system!
